Once the session started, most users report feeling comfortable with their partner. Remember that you're not "hanging out" with your partner; you say hello at the beginning, declare your tasks, and say goodbye at the end.
Yes. Working with video is highly encouraged.
While it’s not required, we encourage you to keep your mic on during the appointment. Listening to your partner work is a great way to boost your productivity and increase your accountability. However, if you have background noises, you listen to youtube videos, music, or make a phone call, etc., please mute yourself.
While it’s not required, we encourage you to keep your A coworking session is 30, 45 or 60 minutes long. This allows you to take a break if you want to do multiple sessions in a row. Sessions can be scheduled in 15 minute increments (ie: on the hour, at 15, 30 and 45 passed)
Please don’t. You would normally speak with your partner at the beginning and end of your session. Start by saying hello to your partner and sharing what you plan to accomplish. At the end of the session, you should check in with your partner and ask how it went. When your session ends, you can suggest or offer to talk more with your partner. The sessions are not for selling, chatting etc.
As long as you stay on camera, Focus 101 can be used for most kinds of work: computer work, cleaning, cooking, art, music, writing, reading, even exercise at home! It's important to set up your camera so you can see each other with your partner while you work.
Focus 101 is free. A premium version will be available in the future, with extra features. At the moment, we're in beta testing, but if you register now you'll get free lifetime premium access. We plan to have a “pay what you think is worth” kind of model in the future.
Yes. Make sure to mute your microphone if you plan to listen to music or watch videos. You can also listen to the white sounds playlist in the app.
